INSIDER TIP

From Our Guides

Know what you are getting into. This is very much a float, not a whitewater trip, and that is the whole point. It is pretty straightforward, and you will barely get wet.

Food & Drink

What To Expect During Meal Time

Charcuterie and drinks at the beach stop, in Hellgate Canyon or shortly after. We pour when we are pulled over, not while we are moving. Expect prosciutto, salami, cheese, grapes, veggies, nuts, hummus and ranch dip, with cans and acrylic stemless glasses. About two beers each, or a bottle of wine on request.

Meeting Logistics

Where & When To Meet

Meet at the shop at 5:00 PM PT. We shuttle to Robertson Bridge and are on the water around 5:30, take out at Indian Mary, and have you back at the shop around 8:30 PM PT. The shop is locked by then, so keep your keys with you or hand them to your guide. Park in the dirt lot, or the front lot if there is space.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is alcohol included on Oregon trips?

Expand

On the Rogue lodge trips there is a beer on arrival at Black Bar, and Paradise Lodge has a paid bar. On the Rogue camp trips there is a drink with dinner. The Golden Hour float is the only day trip we serve alcohol on, with local Oregon beer and wine on the beach.

What do I do with my car keys?

Expand

Hand them to your guide and they ride in a dry bag, or leave them at the shop if you met there. On the Golden Hour float the shop is locked by 8:30, so keep your keys or give them to your guide. On the North Umpqua they stay with the guide or in the van.

Where do I park in Oregon?

Expand

For single-day trips, use the dirt lot across the street from the shop, or the front lot if there is space. For multi-day trips, park inside the lot. On the North Umpqua, the Gravel Bin is the easiest spot since it is also the takeout.

Will my group have a raft to ourselves?

Expand

Rafts hold a maximum of 8. A group of 8 gets its own raft; smaller groups will likely share. We cannot guarantee you will be alone in the raft with just your family.
