Lower Salmon River, ID
The Lower Salmon drops through four canyons on its way to meet the Snake River, with warm water, huge white sand beaches and Class III waves that are perfect for learning to paddle an inflatable kayak. It is our go-to trip for families.
The river
Basalt canyon walls, splashy wave trains and long beaches with room for everyone. Bighorn sheep, deer and the odd black bear live along the banks, on the ancestral homeland of the Nez Perce.

Orange Torpedo Trips runs the 4-Day Gorges Trip, which ends at the confluence with a jet boat ride up Hells Canyon, and the 4-Day Row Your Own, a request-only trip for experienced paddlers who want to run their own boats with our guides along.
